What is a Mommy Makeover?
The term “mommy makeover” was coined to denote procedures that were done to correct the areas most often altered by a pregnancy and a woman’s desire to regain her pre-pregnancy appearance. A mommy makeover is typically a combination of a breast surgery and a body contouring procedure to help women regain the curvaceous and tighter look they had before having had children.
The procedure can also be utilized in females that have lost a significant amount of weight and want to bring their bodies back to the way they were before significant weight gain and weight loss. Typical breast procedures include breast augmentation, breast lift/reduction, and breast lift with implants. Typical body contouring procedures include: tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction, and occasionally fat grafting.

Why have a Mommy Makeover vs. Individual Procedures?
The advantages of a combined procedure include cost, convenience, a single recovery period, and expedited gratification (when compared to multiple staged procedures). While these advantages do exist, they must be weighed against the disadvantages of greater up-front cost, increased risks of adverse events associated with prolonged operative time, and single partial success (in some cases) versus multiple successful staged operations.
Which option is right for you will be discussed with your surgeon at the time of an informed consultation where we will discuss the various surgical options available to you and the best way in which to achieve the results that you desire.

Things to Look for In your Surgeon:
- Experience: With 2 generations of doctors, over 30,000 procedures and a lifetimes worth of combined experience, Dr. Nikolas V. Chugay and Dr. Paul N. Chugay have not only the required experience in various surgical and non surgical procedures but Nikolas has helped revolutionize the industry, and Paul is following very closely in his father’s footsteps, drawing on over 40 years of experience.
- Compatibility & Respect: Book a consultation with the doctor. Get a feel for how they treat you; whether they listen to you and what you want. It’s important to thoroughly discuss what you’re trying to achieve with your doctor so they have a clear, concise idea of what your goal is but it’s equally important that you respect your doctor’s experience and education enough to listen to their recommendations. You don’t want a doctor that doesn’t care about YOU.
- Specialization: Ask your doctor about other times they’ve performed the procedure you want.
